PADI Course Descriptions

PADI Open Water Diver

The PADI Open Water Diver course is a complete, scuba diving course designed for those with little or no experience in the water and will give you your first, entry level certificate. Recognised worldwide, it is valid for life and allows you to dive to a maximum depth of 18 mtrs.

The course content consists of 5 knowledge development sessions, 5 confined open water dives (can be done in a pool too) and 4 open water sea dives. With the use of a self-study instruction book and video sessions, plus the help of your instructer, you will gain the knowledge you need to be a competent and safe diver. You will then put that information to use in the sea during your dives. At the end of the course, you will have all the knowledge and skills to pass the short quiz, and you will receive your log book and certificate.

Certification: PADI Open Water Diver (Internationally recognised certificate)

PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (AOWD)

The next level up from the Open Water Diver, the Advanced Open Water Diver allows you to dive up to a maximum depth of 30 mtrs.  It enhances your experience and knowledge and introduces you to new and exciting diving opportunities. You can choose 5 dives from the following 15 different Adventure Dives:

AWARE Fish Identification Dive

Boat Dive

Drift Dive

Enriched Air Nitrox Dive

Multilevel and Computer Dive

Night Dive

Peak Performance Buoyancy Dive

Search & Recovery Dive

Underwater Photography Dive

Underwater Naturalist Dive

Deep Dive (compulsory)

Underwater Navigation Dive (compulsory)

This course will expand your diving knowledge and abilities and open up a whole new fun world in scuba diving.

Pre-requisites: PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent

Certification: PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

PADI Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver course combines the Advanced Open Water Diver with training in First Aid and CPR. You will learn the knowledge and skills needed to rescue a diver, including how to avoid accidents, saving lives and emergency management. In total there are 5 open water lessons, all related to self-rescue and the rescue of another.
Pre-requisites:  PADI Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent certification plus complete First Aid certificate (Course can be completed in the diving school). DAN Oxygen Provider recommended

PADI Wreck Diver

Want to explore the sunken ships, planes and treasures lost underwater? Then the PADI Wreck Diver course exactly what you are looking for. To venture into PADI Wreck Diver course, you must have at least a PADI Adventures In Diving or Advanced Open Water Diver certification card and be at least 15 years old. In your PADI Wreck Diver Course you will acquire from your instructor, text book and video, the knowledge to make 4 open water dives that take place over at least two days.
Course content includes: – planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and dangers of Wreck Diving, preparation and use of lights, air supplies, special equipment, ropes and pulleys for the immersion in wrecks, techniques for diving in limited visibility, and emergency procedures.

Wreck diving during a training dive is limited to daylight hours and will be a maximum distance from the surface of 40 mtrs.  If the wreck lies deeper than 18 mtrs, it is recommended the Deep Diver certification is held as a pre-requisite for the Wreck Diver Course.

PADI Deep Diver

Normally at a depth of 30 mtrs we will find sunken ships, various marine life and a little more with this course. Deep diving is certainly one of the most fascinating aspects of diving. However, it also requires special considerations, techniques and knowledge to make sure you enjoy these dives.

To attend this course you must be at least 15 years old and be qualified as an Adventure Diver or equivalent. The course includes 4 dives, carried out over two or more days. The minimum depth for this dive is 18mtrs/60ft, the maximum depth is 40mtrs/130ft. All dives have decompression limits, with deeper dives conducted first.
Course content: – planning, organisation, procedures, techniques, problems and hazards of deep diving – risk factors and repetition of the dive tables – Safety stops and emergency decompression procedures – special equipment, descent lines and buoyancy considerations, procedures for flying after diving and diving at high altitudes – explanations in terms of decompression chambers.
