Diving School
LAGE
LOCATION
It was purely a unique stroke of luck in finding the location of C & C Scuba diving school Kalkan back in 2004, which our guests have always benefited from. With its own berth located in the central port of Kalkan, the sheltered bay provides secure anchoring for the dive boat. All our diving equipment remains on the boat at all times, so no-one has the painstaking job of towing the equipment onto the boat prior to diving.
The Hotel Pirat which is right on the harbour front has simple but clean rooms. From the great breakfast and pool terrace you can watch the dive boat which is just a few steps away. Other hotels and pensions are within easy reach from Dalaman airport which is approximately a 2 hour drive away.
Non-divers and snorkellers are all welcome on board. The beaches of Patara and Kaputas are very popular for non-divers and are just two of the stops we make, dependent upon the group mix.
Kalkan’s vibrant harbour front and narrow streets offers night life to suit every taste. People meet for a snack, drink or water pipe in one of the many Turkish bars and restaurants all of which are near to our office. Or for something a little more lively there are a small number of disco bars in the centre of Kalkan. Wherever you choose you will be in the best of hands.
AMENITIES
Divers are welcome to bring their own equipment, but most divers choose from our new Mares and Aqualung BC diving equipment which we regularly maintain and is always in full working condition. For both divers and snorkellers, we have a large number of suits, masks and fins in all sizes.
In total we have 20 complete sets of equipment available including children’s equipment so they can experience the unique underwater world of Kalkan. We have 40 modern steel cylinders in various sizes which are filled before each dive and regularly audited by TUV. We also regularly check the valves. Standard connections are with DIN valves, but INT-bar connections can also be used.
Constant maintenance of the compressor and a constant review of the breathing air filers guarantee the best air quality.

DIVEBOAT
The Bawarian was built in 1996, has a 135hp strong Ford Motor allowing a speed of 10 knots, and before being converted to a dive boat, it was known at the “Blue Voyage Tour Boat”. Being 15 metres long and 5.2 metres wide it offers our guests plenty of space and can hold comfortably up to 21 people. Our dinghy has a 2hp outboard engine which we use to provide short distance transfers, used for drift dives and collects tired and weary divers at the end of their dive. The tanks hold 1200 litres of fresh water and 500 litres of fuel. We also carry an appropriate number of fire extinguishers and life jackets.
The boat design was adapted to incorporate the needs of the diver, for example through the addition of a diving platform in stainless steel and teak. A toilet has been added as well as expanding the salon area and the galley deck. Our sundeck offers comfortable sun beds for 16 people, and in the height of the season we stretch a solar sail across the deck for a relaxed afternoon nap with the sunstroke! There is also a kitchen for making lunch, as well as cold drinks from the fridge at a fair price.
